Here she’s on her way to the Playboy Halloween party, surprise! Whoops! Sorry guys, I missed the bus on the trip to Rwanda, so my charity plans for the year are behind me. Now I can go back to being a full-time slut! She’s so adventurous with her crystal-eyes and robotic stance, now that she’s done the B movie, cult flop Repo! The Genetic Opera.

Chan in the studio with Matt Sweeney in Miami 2007
Cat Power has another album coming out January 22, on Matador. She really got around on this one; it was recorded in Dallas, New York and Miami and it’s another all covers record, like her 2000 release of The Covers Record (that had a very ugly cover).
There are 10 (covers) tracks, a new version of “Metal Heart” and “Song To Bobby” and much more palatable album art this time around.
1 Theme From “New York, New York” (Frank Sinatra)
2 “Metal Heart” (Cat Power)
3 “Ramblin (Wo)man” (Hank Williams)
4 “Song To Bobby” (Cat Power)
5 “Aretha, Sing One For Me” (George Jackson)
6 “Lost Someone” (James Brown)
7 “I Believe In You” (Bob Dylan)
8 “Fortunate Son” (Creedence Clearwater Revival)
9 “Silver Stallion” (Lee Clayton)
10 “Dark End Of The Street” (Dan Penn & Chips Morman; originally sung by James Carr)
11 “Dont Explain” (Billie Holiday)
12 “Woman Left Lonely” (Janis Joplin)
The Reviews Are Rolling In On ‘Backout’
Wednesday, October 24th, 2007Well, it looks like Brit can kick back and relax, reviews for Blackout are coming in and they’re all good. To be expected. She’s such a mess to watch attempt to function in everyday life, but empty enough to make a successful pop album (where she contributes basically, just her name and a little vocals).
She’s mailable and I don’t think that there is a producer that could go wrong with the fame that swirls around this girl. Hype is half the success.
IGN reviewed ‘Blackout’ and gave it a 6.9. There’s a great breakdown of each song on their site. Here is an interesting excerpt of the full review, on the production of Brit’s Blackout.
From a production standpoint Blackout is pretty sweet. The sheer amount of layering and overdubs create a full, rich vocal palette for Spears and when listened to on headphones even induce mild bouts of hypnotic euphoria. Ultimately, however, this is just corn syrup saturated ear candy that goes down easy and then is ultimately forgotten. A retro post-new Wave rush encapsulates “Heaven on Earth,” which again features breathless Britney working her seductive magic. Yet when coupled with all the “out of shape” photos we’ve been assaulted with in the tabloids, it’s hard to get aroused by the slinky sway of the song. Visual connotations aside, the track is actually one of the more solid offering on the album, Spears keeping her vocals pretty consistent, going for a sultrier, richer approach than her normal shrill demeanor. The chorus itself is incredibly enthralling, lilting along with melodic supremacy.
…Makes you want to hear it, eh? October 30!!!

Brit’s On Again/Off Again Relationship With Her Boys Is Off Again
Friday, October 19th, 2007I guess the Commish caught wind of Britney’s feelings for him, when she was heard publicly saying, in a Neiman Marcus department store, that he is “just an old fart”. Brit also seems to think he’s “catty” with her. Because the CA U.S. court has suspended Britney Spears’ visitation rights with her two young sons, until the pop star complies with all court orders. The court order offense in question is “a lack of providing contact information for random drug testing”.
Brit’s next shot at getting the kids is October 26, when she’s been ordered back to court. By that time the parenting coach will have submitted her summary of Brit’s skills. That should be a good read.
Updated: Hey this was not her fault after all, the excuse…. bad cell phone reception, thats right, she missed the random drug test call due to bad cell coverage. Not to be confused with her prior excuse, “I didn’t hear the intercom”.
give us break, ya flake!
Who needs kids when you got McDonald’s!

Ellen Is Sad
Wednesday, October 17th, 2007
Ellen breaks down on her show over dog adoption controversy.
Daytime TV sweetheart, Ellen Degeneres and girlfriend, Portia de Rossi, adopted a dog from Mom’s n’ Mutts, in Pasadena, CA. When the pooch failed to get along with Ellen’s other animals, she took it upon herself to find the doggy a new home, with her hair-stylist. However, this was an illegal move, according to the contractual agreement between Ellen and the adoption facility.
The result is a very upset little girl after the a representative from the facility came to their home and removed the dog.
Ellen is extremely upset and had a very hard time being her usually cheerful self on her show today.
Al Gore Wins The Nobel Peace Prize
Monday, October 15th, 2007Al Gore has been awarded top honor with the Nobel Peace Prize, for informing the world of the dangers posed by climate change.
Everyone will always have their opinions, especially regarding Al Gore, so it comes as no surprise that many are debating his worthiness of this award. One reader from Germany, wrote to DW-WORLD.DE and makes a very good point. “While Gore may be hated or celebrated like a rock star, as is Bush, he did more to raise the American awareness of global warming and the climate crisis than anyone else has done before. The fact that one man was able to finally awaken the petulant child USA to the fact that it is one of the leading causes of global warming most certainly does deserve a Nobel Prize. To criticize the film ‘An Inconvenient Truth’ because Gore had a starring role — when without Gore there would have been no film and no subsequent awareness among the otherwise blithe, ill-informed and uncaring Americans is a cheap pot-shot. If Gore’s well-deserved Nobel Prize comes as a slap in the face to the worst president in US history then it is deservedly and justifiably so. ” — Franz Peter Weeren, Germany

Blohan Has Blown It All
Monday, October 15th, 2007It is reported that Lindsay blew and snorted upwards of $7 million on drugs and partying. She recently had to sell both her $2.8 million LA apt. and her $1 million New York flat to pay
for her increasing legal and rehab fees.
Apparently she is now reduced to squatting at a friend’s home.
Prediction: This drug dud is far from done with her path of self destruction.
Britney Is Out Of Touch
Monday, October 15th, 2007Britney is out of touch! Back in March, when everyone was full of concern for the eminent disaster her life has now become, the dynamic duo, Timbaland and Timberlake had put together a guaranteed platinum offer.
Nobody in their right mind could possibly refuse such an opportunity, but she wasn’t in her right mind, now was she? Show up, don’t shave your head in public or go without panties, and we will produce your new album. Yes, Britney Spears you’re a mess and we are the hottest music duo on the planet, after the smash success’s of Justin’s ‘SexyBack’ and Nelly Furtado‘s comeback CD ‘Loose’. The two, Timbaland in particular, were ready to strike platinum again, but noooo… how could Britney possibly notice a great offer like this when her plate is already full of brilliant career moves “like and such as”, turning down first crack at recording an, as of then, unknown little song called “Umbrella”.
Here’ a link to the staged run to the Virgin Megastore in Hollywood yesterday, when Brit has a paparazzi retrieve ‘SexyBack’ CD for her. Good one.
Face it Britney, you’re never going to get JT’s attention again. You’re stuck with the poor man’s versions like K-Fed and JR, instead of JT.
Brit, I’ve seen the future and let me spare you and the paparazzi a trip back to the Virgin Megastore. I just gifted you Nelly’s ‘Loose’ and Timbaland’s ‘Shockvalue’… check your inbox.
