ATW: Any Time Weed

Wednesday, January 30th, 2008

California is now stocking marijuna in vending machines. AVM’s are 24 hour machines housed in standalone rooms, abutting two dispensaries and protected by round-the-clock security guards.

You must first get your prescription from your doctor sorted out, then take it to the AVM for approval, fingerprint taken, and a prepaid credit card loaded with your profile: dosage (3.5 or 7 grams) and strain preference.

There are five choices including: OG Cush, Granddaddy Purple, the mildly hallucinogenic forebear to Prince. The max dosage is 1oz per week. The “medicine” comes in plastic capsules and vacuum-sealed.

The AVMs are already in place at their respective dispensaries and will became fully-operational on Monday, though their vestibules are still under construction.

What’s scary are future plans include machine-vended pharmaceuticals like Vicodin, Viagra, and Propecia.

Do you think the dude in this video partakes in the supply?

Someone is Pretending to be Heath’s Father

Tuesday, January 29th, 2008

An impostor pretending to be Heath Ledger’s father fooled Tom Cruise into consoling him over the phone — and nearly got John Travolta to buy him a plane ticket to the United States, sources told the New York Post.

The con artist also tricked the Frank E. Campbell Funeral Home in Manhattan, where Ledger’s body was held before being flown to Los Angeles, into booking him and his “family” rooms at the Carlyle hotel nearby on Madison Avenue, sources told the Post.

The man falsely claiming to be Kim Ledger also spoke on the phone with the doctor who performed the autopsy on the “Brokeback Mountain” star, a spokeswoman for the Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed for the Post.

Cops want to arrest the scammer on fraud and larceny charges, and sent detectives to Ledger’s wake at the funeral home Friday in hopes of catching him, New York City Police Commissioner Ray Kelly told the Post.

But police do not know the identity of the impostor, who “had a couple of conversations with” Tom Cruise asking for emotional support, a source told the Post. Cruise abruptly cut him off when he learned “he was an impostor,” the source said.

Ledger, 28, was found dead last Tuesday. A cause of death has not yet been determined.I get the desire to screw with Tom Cruise… but this is not the way to do it, shame on this man!

The Grammys Will Go On

Wednesday, January 23rd, 2008

The WGA released a statement yesterday revealing that they “voted not to picket” the Grammys Award show, February 10.
“Members of the American Federation of Musicians face many of the same issues concerning compensation in new media that we do,” the presidents of WGA West and East said in their statement.

“In the interest of advancing our goal of advancing a fair contract, the WGAW Board felt that this gesture should be made on behalf of our brothers and sisters in AFM and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA).”

The controversy has been with the cross-over musicians with acting careers that might be crossing the picket line by appearing or performing at the show.

Beyonce is to perform this year with Tina Turner.

They can roll Beyonce on down the river and keep Tina Turner if it’s a problem.
