Dolly Parton To Perform At SXSW 2008
SXSW is pleased to announce that Dolly Parton will perform on the BMI showcase at the Austin Music Hall on Friday, March 14. An internationally renowned superstar, the iconic and irrepressible Parton has contributed countless treasures to the world of music entertainment, penning classic songs such as “Jolene,” “Coat of Many Colors,” and her mega-hit “I Will Always Love You.” The American singer/ songwriters new album BACKWOODS BARBIE will be released on Feb 5. This is her first mainstream country album in 17 years and marks the first release on her independent label, Dolly Parton Records, that will focus on quality releases from her catalog.

A Conversation with Michael Eisner
This special interview has been scheduled as a joint panel session for both SXSW Film and SXSW Interactive registrants. Scheduled for Tuesday, March 11, this will be a one-on-one interview with the founder of The Tornante Company and new media studio Vuguru, will feature the former head of Disney turned media mogul discussing his past, present and future endeavors, as he builds new companies and models for entertainment consumption.

SXSW Film announces ‘A Conversation with Helen Hunt’
A Conversation with Helen Hunt will occur at the SXSW Film Conference, on Sunday, March 9. Hunt won an Oscar for her role in As Good As It Gets, as well as several Emmys for her role on the hit sitcom Mad About You. Her directorial debut, Then She Found Me, will screen at this years SXSW Film Festival. She will be in attendance to discuss her acclaimed career as an actress as well as making the leap behind the camera.

The Black Crowes Showcase At SXSW 2008
The Black Crowes will return to SXSW ’08 with a performance on Saturday, Mar 15. On March 4, the band will release WARPAINT, their first album of all-new studio material in 7 years.
