What Makes a Great Song
Tuesday, December 11th, 2007It begins with the lyric. A great song expresses a feeling that inexplicable. You cannot have a great song without a very strong lyric.
What’s Happened to the Music Business
Tuesday, December 11th, 2007John D. Kalodner is arguably one of the most successful and influential A&R (artist and repertory) men in the history of the music business. Starting his career in 1976 with Atlantic Records, he was responsible for bringing AC/DC as well as Genesis, Phil Collins, and Peter Gabriel to the label. From 1980 to 1994, he entered a fruitful partnership with Geffen Records that made him the man behind many of that era’s most popular and enduring hard rock and pop records.
Amy Abandons Tour
Tuesday, November 27th, 2007After many drugs and horrid performances, Amy Winehouse has called it quits.
Amy, with the instruction of her doctor has canceled all remaining live and promotional appearances for the remainder of the year. She had completed 8 shows and had 8 more to go before the end of the year, but missed last night’s gig in Bournemouth. Before the show, she met with her management and tour company staff and announced her plans to quit in a very tense meeting.
Amy’s management released a statement saying: “The rigors involved in touring and the intense emotional strain that Amy has been under in recent weeks have taken their toll.
“In the interests of her health and well-being, Amy has been ordered to take complete rest and deal with her health issues.”
“Amy says -
I can’t give it my all on stage without my Blake. I’m so sorry but I don’t want to do the shows half-heartedly. I love singing. My husband is everything to me and without him it’s just not the same.”
A source who was in the meeting said: “She was in floods of tears and weeping that she couldn’t go on without Blake.
“People told her this would go down terribly with the fans and lose her a ton of money, but she was adamant.
“Amy’s clearly in a right state at the moment, but she was adamant. The meeting broke up about 5pm. It’s far from an ideal position.”
Refunds for the remaining dates will be issued from the point of purchase.
We hope she gives in and goes to rehab. She is in a bad state.
We wish her well.

Will.I.Am’s Innovative New Album About Girls!
Tuesday, November 13th, 2007
Hip hop producer 32 year old, Williams James Adams, Jr., a.k.a, Will.I.Am is ready to spill his third solo album. An innovative producer with the skill of global branding, he mixes his eclectic taste to blend pop, hip hop, rock, bossa nova and electronica.
After producing such acts as Black Eyed Peas, Fergie, Mary J Blige, Pussycat Dolls, John Legend, he’s currently in studio working with the King of Pop, on Michael Jackson’s new album. A good fit for Michael since he prides himself on innovation.
Will.I.Am’s new album, “Songs About Girls” deals with “the girls” that inspired him over the last few years ranging from the ladies that raised him, dated him, flirted with him and broke up with him. Some say it may be pop album of the year and after the success of Fergie’s solo career, it just may be.

Kanye West’s mother, Donda West died Saturday night in Los Angeles at age 58.
Donda was a noted scholar, former chairwoman of Chicago Sate University’s English department, and an active college professor for 31 years; before she began managing her son’s career. She also recently published a book dedicated to her son titled “Raising Kanye: Life Lessons From the Mother of a Hip-Hop Star.”
Donda had just undergone a breast augmentation and tummy tuck surgery. Sadly, she died from an allergic reaction to medication she was taking because of the surgery.
Godspeed Donda.
The Jolie-Pitts Wont Be Using Neverland To Get Weird
Monday, November 12th, 2007
Ang and Brad were set to buy the house of Never Neverland, but MJ’s reps claim it’s no longer on the market.
A and B thought it would be a great place to raise their 4 children and I don’t see why not? What child doesn’t deserve all the comforts 55 servants could offer. They were especially impressed by the security of the compound and thought the zoo would be great for kids.
I guess normalcy is low on the list of things they want for their children.

Michael Wont Lose Never Neverland After All
Monday, November 12th, 2007
Ah a little fancy paper shuffling and a few signatures and the house is yours AGAIN.
According to Jackson’s spokeswoman, Raymone Bain said in a statement that the singer, who has not lived at the property since his acquittal on child sex charges in 2005, did not default on a 23.2 million dollar loan on the home.
“Contrary to published reports, Mr. Jackson was never in default of the loan,” the statement said. “Mr. Jackson is in the final stages of refinance and will not lose Neverland Valley Ranch.
“No further comments will be made regarding this subject as it has been our long-term policy not to address Mr. Jackson’s personal financial affairs.”
Michael Jackson has been struggling to put his career back together after child molestation charges were brought up on him in 2005. He left Neverland for Bahrain, Las Vegas, and is currently living in Washington.

Should “The Dog” Be Forgiven?
Thursday, November 8th, 2007
Duane “Dog” Chapman apologizes on Hannity & Colmes.
Unfortunately, he didn’t get it right in his interview, in fact, he may have dug a deeper hole, but we must consider the source.
Enough of the racial division over this word. This hillbilly has used the “n” word all of his life. Racial division in the prison system breeds hate, for which he spent 18 months (in a Texas prison). It’s time to make the word go away! Equally, for all of us! It’s not right for anyone of any race or color to use this word to describe another human. This is a hurtful word that has caused a lot of pain and ruined careers. It must be banned.
On the contrary, there have been cases where the same word, has been used intentionally, for the sake of comedy. A jewel in the center of a $50million career, Dave Chappelle renewed the use of the “n” word in 2002, on Comedy Central’s “Chapelle’s Show”, when he created hilarious skits centered around the very word. The skits became instant classics, causing the once forbidden word to become household slang across America and throughout our schools, which will no doubt be passed on to their children and so on.
We must stop the division!
Just as the “eff” word has become normalized, perhaps, we should allow this one too, to become used as acceptable slang. Many acceptable versions of the “eff” word have been put into circulation like; “friggin”, “freakin”, “effin”. I even noticed a tab on a pair of children’s clothing today, called “friggin skinny chinos”, then later dined at a respectable lunch spot and overheard a 65 year old man, ordering the “effin good sandwich”, which he shared with his wife. I’m personally outraged, but where do we go from here?
So… Can Duane Chapman be forgiven? I think he should be. No way is he going to make this mistake twice and if he does, then pull the plug! This was a recorded personal conversation between family members, not an intentional use on his show. Chapman states that he’s not using the word based on hate, but as a way to express himself. This man makes his living by physically chasing dangerous, hardened criminals, for our entertainment.
The level of his backwards thinking is evidenced in his appearance, speech, mannerisms, and colloquialisms, and is the very reason A&E sought him out to create a show (around him). Capitalizing on these very traits. Now he’s banned from A&E for being the epitome of his character, himself. A self proclaimed “dog”.
dog: a. a person regarded as unattractive or uninteresting. b. Something of inferior or low quality.
Can we really not rise above. Are we so offended of his personal use of language, made public via a “set-up” by his own son? Is anyone truly hurt by his actions, other than the man himself?
Number One Pop Album
Thursday, November 1st, 2007Number 1 pop album, Carnival Ride!!
I don’t get it, but it’s a fact.
I do know that when I hear that hilarious, “Before he Cheats” song on the radio, I go to town singing about knockin’ those headlights out, but I also love to sing “9 to 5″, by Dolly Parton; that doesn’t make it good… or does it?
Number one is an honorable spot and some country stars like Faith Hill, Wynonna and LeAnn Rimes, I’m sure, have had enough! Now she’s worked her way into the pop world!
Today all five of Carrie blank canvas Underwood’s five singles went to number one. She’s received two Grammy’s, an American Music Awards, two People’s Choice awards, five Academy of Country Music awards, and two awards from the Country Music Assn.
My problem with this music is that it’s written to be a hit and Carrie is just the receptor. She sings it, stands in line for makeup and wardrobe and viola! Not my cup of tea.. woe is me.
Get me off this ride, I think I’m getting sick!!
