Amy Got A Gig

Thursday, June 12th, 2008

Amy Winehouse has been asked to play the gala opening of an art gallery on Thursday, run by Daria Zhukova, the girlfriend of Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich. Hosting the party is socialite and former model Zhukova, who will be entertaining 300 guests.

In preparation for the event, workers are painting concrete walls in the old bus shelter that will soon be the new art gallery.

Let’s hope she shows up!

In other Amy news: The two people that provided Amy with cocaine and ecstasy that she did in the pics ran by the Sun a few months ago, have been busted. Amy somehow remains clear of charges, while the dealers are being charged with conspiracy.

Here are pics from NOTW that also details her affairs that she’s recently confessed to sleaze bag hubby Blake and the infamous racist rant video can be see there as well.

What’s Katy Perry Teaching The Kids?

Thursday, June 12th, 2008

How is Katy Perry getting radio play? One word, Madonna! Madge gave her approval, which doesn’t always warrant good fortune in the music business, but it looks like Katy has a hit on her hands with “I Kissed A Girl”.

Some people are comparing “I Kissed A Girl” from her One of the Boys album, to Kelly Clarkson’s “Since You’ve Been Gone”. She’s definitely easier to look at. Music is going through another twist and turn, the indie’s are out and pop is back, so she just may have a big hit on her hands this summer.

Here’s the remix on Jason Nevins myspace if you can stomach the 80’s radio plug.

John Mayer’s New Personality is Gross

Wednesday, February 6th, 2008

Ever since John Mayer hooked up and broke up with Jessica Simpson he has adopted some ridiculous sexy/funny guy routine. I appreciate self deprecating humor as much as George Clooney does, and get the “I’m a huge star” humility thing, but he’s not quite cool enough to pull it off… although he’s trying like hell.

When he’s not cracking us up with his wit and sarcasm, he’s collecting tattoos and new muscles on his wonderland. Tats + muscles= instant coolness.

He’s got some cruise called the “The John Mayer Cruise“, the “Mayercraft Carrier”, where he shocked and entertained his crew this weekend by donning the joke that’s already been done Borat thong.

Ha ha larious.

Wednesday, January 23rd, 2008

Oh yeah!!! The B-52’s are back!

They are releasing ‘Funplex’, March 25th, 2008. It will be their first studio album in 16 long years and the first with the Astralwerks label.

Cindy, Fred, Kate, and Keith have made an album thatis incredibly fresh, dynamic and perhaps most importantly, quintessentially The B-52’s … instantly recognizable, instantly fun,” Astralwerks label manager Glenn Mendlinger comments.

Now the Writer’s Guild Wants to Picket the Grammy’s

Tuesday, January 15th, 2008

tv20guide2020003a235.jpgThe Writers Guild is now going to become a problem for the Grammy Awards!

The WGA has announced plans to picket the ceremony.

The ceremony is to air on CBS network which is part of the big media that is refusing to negotiate with the writers. However, the WGA already said it would refuse to grant the Grammy’s a waiver that would allow them to use WGA members to write the show.

It’s unclear how much of an impact a WGA picket line would have, but the kudocast will have to make do without the usual 10-20 actors who usually serve as presenters. Last year, for example, Quentin Tarantino, Luke Wilson, Nicolas Cage, Terrence Howard, Samuel L. Jackson, Chris Rock and David Spade appeared on the show.

This year also has a substantial number of nominated musicians who have appeared in films and on TV. Chief among them are Justin Timberlake, Queen Latifah, Tim McGraw, Beyonce, Jack White, Jon Bon Jovi, T.I. and Fantasia. Among the nominees who have historically not crossed picket lines are Bruce Springsteen, the Beastie Boys, Joni Mitchell, John Mellencamp and Steve Earle.

Please don’t pick on the Grammy’s!!

Rihanna’s Dad Not So Clean

Tuesday, November 13th, 2007

Rihanna tells Giant Magazine that she grew up with a crack addicted father, which kept her on the straight and narrow. She’s calls her mom a very hard worker that tried to shield her from negative elements, but her very father was always home toiling with drugs, creating a very undesirable environment.

“I just knew that my mom and dad would always argue when there was a foil paper with an ashtray,” she says. “He would just go into the bathroom all the time. I didn’t know what it was. … [But] he knew that to get closer to [his kids], he had to cut that out. And he did.”
You stay on that straight and narrow and don’t get anymore of those creepy tattoos.
